A mint unused stamp from Costa Rica, from the very early ‘Porte Reales’ definitive series issued by Correos de Costa Rica. The design features the Costa Rican coat of arms: a sailing ship in a bay surrounded by mountains, five-pointed stars and ornamental acanthus scrollwork. Inscription reads Porte 2 Reales, Correos de Costa Rica, Dos Reales. Printed in orange/vermilion.
