Hungary 1979 IVA’79 European Railways Stamp Souvenir Sheet

A souvenir block issued by Magyar Posta (Hungary) in 1979 to commemorate the IVA’79 International Transport Exhibition. The sheet contains a single 20 Ft stamp set within a colourful illustrated margin.

The design features a map of the European railway network overlaid with route lines connecting major cities, alongside a modern electric locomotive with passenger coaches in blue and white livery. Inscribed in Hungarian: “Európa Országait Összekötő Vasútvonalak / IVA’79” (European Connecting Railway Lines). Sheet numbered 123077.

Condition: Mint (MNH) — unmounted, clean gum, sharp perforations. A clean example of mid-century Eastern European railway philately.
