A finely produced photographic postcard from the Musée de l’Armée in Paris, depicting Napoleon’s Campaign Bed (Lit de Campagne de Napoléon) displayed in the Salle Napoléon. Catalogue number 68. The bed, draped in its original silk canopy and campaign curtains, is one of the most iconic relics of the Napoleonic era preserved at the museum.
The reverse bears the printed stamp of the Société de Secours aux Blessés Militaires (SSBM) — the French Red Cross predecessor society, founded in 1864, motto Inter Arma Caritas, headquartered at 4 rue François I, Paris. This charitable society distributed postcards as part of their fundraising and commemorative activities, making this a dual-interest collectable: Napoleonic relic and Red Cross ephemera.
Unused, no correspondence or postal markings. Very Good condition with minor age toning consistent with the period.
