First Elzevier edition (Amsterdam, Daniel Elzevier, 1665), published the same year as the Paris first edition. Imprint reads “A Cologne. M.DC.LXV.” — standard Elzevier fiction. One of the rarest volumes in the Elzevier collection per Tchemerzine. 136pp duodecimo. Original 17th-century binding: blue leather spine with gilt rosettes and raised bands, green paper boards. Condition: spine heavily worn at head and tail, corners bumped, boards rubbed and peeling at spine joint. Handwritten ink inscription on title page (provenance unknown). Internally clean, title page clear and legible. Bibliography refs: Barbier I 691; Berghman 1718; Tchemerzine IX 393; Willems 1352; Rahir 1403; Brunet IV 1252.
