Original antique postcard showing the dining room (Salle à manger) of the Château de la Malmaison, Napoléon’s former residence near Paris. The photograph captures the magnificent display of imperial silverware — a grand surtout de table (centrepiece) flanked by candelabras and other pieces of goldsmithing (pièces d’orfèvrerie) arranged on long tables in the museum’s exhibition.
Published by Neurdein Frères (ND Phot.), the foremost French photographic publisher of the Belle Époque period, as card No.173 in their Malmaison series. The reverse is blank and unused, featuring the classic French Carte Postale / Correspondance / Adresse layout — typical of cards produced circa 1900–1910.
Light age toning to the reverse, front in good condition. An appealing piece for collectors of Napoleonica, French history, and early museum photography.
